Union Bank of India has announced the appointment of Anil Kuril as the new Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Head of the newly established Data Protection Office. Anil Kuril, who previously served as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Chief Digital Officer (CDO) at Union Bank of India, brings extensive experience in leading transformative digital initiatives. With this appointment, Union Bank becomes the first in the Indian banking sector to formally position cybersecurity and data protection at the leadership level—on par with technology and digital innovation.
