Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, has announced plans for Tesla car users to soon enjoy an integrated experience with X (formerly Twitter), the social media platform he owns. Responding to a follower’s query about the possibility of integrating the X app into Tesla cars, Musk stated, “Coming soon,” suggesting that Tesla owners will likely gain access to X through a software update in the Tesla user interface (UI).
While some enthusiasts welcome the idea of having an integrated social media platform, there are contrasting opinions. One user expressed excitement, highlighting the inconvenience of accessing X notifications on their iPhone while using full-self driving (FSD) and anticipated a smoother experience through native ecosystem integration. However, another user criticized the idea, deeming it a waste of engineering effort, citing difficulties in using the application while driving and discomfort in typing due to awkward body positioning. They suggested that the only practical use might be for accessing “Spaces” feature, which also poses challenges.
In the midst of the discussion, some users urged Musk to also consider integrating Grok AI into Tesla cars. One follower emphasized, “Don’t forget Grok inside the Tesla fleet too,” suggesting a broader integration scope beyond social media platforms.
