Tesla, the auto and energy firm, has appointed Vaibhav Taneja, of Indian descent, as its Chief Financial Officer. Besides his new role as CFO, Taneja will continue to serve as the Chief Accounting Officer, as reported in the Securities and Exchange Commission document dated August 7th. He takes over the position from Zachary Kirkhorn.
Taneja became a chartered accountant in the year 2000. Hebegan his journey with the Texas-based company, Tesla, in 2018 when he came on board as the Assistant Corporate Controller. Aged 45, Taneja has a rich background in finance and accounting, having worked at SolarCity Corporation and PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in both India and the US.
