Tata Electronics has appointed Dr. Bobby Mitra as its Chief Information Officer (CIO) and President of AI and Digital Transformation. In this strategic role, Dr. Mitra will spearhead the company’s efforts to advance AI-driven digital initiatives across various operations, including Electronic Manufacturing Services, Semiconductor Assembly and Testing, Semiconductor Foundry, and Design Services.
This leadership move aligns with Tata Electronics’ intensified focus on AI-led manufacturing. The company is making significant strides in establishing India’s first semiconductor fabrication plant in Dholera, Gujarat, and launching the country’s pioneering indigenous semiconductor assembly and testing facility in Jagiroad, Assam.

Dr Mitra holds a BTech in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering and a PhD in Computer Science from IIT Kharagpur, along with an Executive MBA from the University of Texas, Austin.
