Akasa Air has announced the appointment of Sejal Haribhakti Mody as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). In this role, Sejal will spearhead the airline’s human resources strategy, which will be integral as the company works toward becoming one of the top 30 airlines in the world by the end of the decade. Sejal brings with her over two decades of experience spanning diverse industries, including fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), media, and consulting. Her deep expertise lies in crafting talent strategies, driving workforce planning, and shaping organizational culture. Prior to joining Akasa Air, she served as the HR Head for Supply Chain, Legal, and ESG/Sustainability for South Asia at Hindustan Unilever Ltd., a role where she played a pivotal part in advancing the company’s workforce initiatives. During her tenure at Hindustan Unilever, she led significant projects in talent development and culture transformation, aligning HR strategies with the company’s sustainability and business goals.
Sejal’s academic credentials further bolster her expertise in human resources and organizational change. She holds an MBA in Finance and Change Management from the Indian School of Business and a BBA Honors in Management Information Systems from the Texas McCombs School of Business. Her career journey includes leadership roles at prestigious organizations such as Disney Star, McKinsey & Company, and Accenture, where she honed her skills in talent management and organizational development.
