Farm-to-face beauty brand RAS Luxury Skincare has successfully raised $5 million in a Series A funding round spearheaded by Unilever Ventures, the investment arm of Unilever. This funding round also saw participation from the Amazon Smbhav Venture Fund, alongside existing backers such as Sixth Sense Ventures and notable angel investors, including the family of Keki Mistry.
This investment marks a significant milestone for the Raipur-based company, which recently raised $1.5 million in a pre-Series A round from Green Frontier Capital, a New York-based venture capital firm with a climate-focused approach.
RAS Luxury Skincare, founded by Sangeeta Jain and her daughters Shubhika and Suramya, specializes in luxury skincare and beauty products that blend natural ingredients with scientific formulations. The brand prides itself on its vertically integrated operations, with research facilities and farms in Chhattisgarh ensuring quality control and sustainability at every stage.
The newly acquired funds will be allocated to expand the brand’s retail footprint, with plans to establish 50 exclusive brand outlets (EBOs) across India within the next three years. Currently operating two EBOs, RAS aims for offline channels to contribute approximately 25% of its revenue over the next four years. Additionally, the funding will support talent acquisition, research and development for innovative product lines, marketing, and technological advancements.
RAS Luxury Skincare has demonstrated impressive growth, reporting a 140% compound annual growth rate over the past year. Over half of the brand’s revenue is generated through direct-to-consumer channels, with the remainder coming from e-commerce platforms such as Nykaa, Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Tira, Blinkit, and Zepto.
Shubhika Jain, Founder and CEO, expressed her vision, stating, “Luxury skincare in India is growing rapidly as consumers increasingly value natural, authentic, and high-performance products. With this funding, we aim to accelerate our vision of becoming India’s top luxury skincare brand while expanding globally. We remain committed to sustainability, innovation, and profitability.”
Unilever Ventures’ Pawan Chaturvedi highlighted the brand’s potential, stating, “We are delighted to support RAS on its journey to create a luxury skincare brand from India that seamlessly combines the richness of Indian heritage with modern consumer needs. As a vertically integrated brand, RAS is uniquely positioned to deliver on its promise of sustainability, safety, and performance. We believe the premium beauty market in India will witness significant growth over the next 5-7 years, and RAS is well poised to capture this opportunity.”
Abhijeet Muzumdar, VP Corporate Development at Amazon and Head of the Amazon Smbhav Venture Fund, emphasized their commitment to fostering entrepreneurship in India. He remarked, “Recently, we signed an MoU with DPIIT to propel India as a global manufacturing hub. As part of this endeavour, we are excited to support RAS Luxury Skincare’s next phase of growth. Through our $350 million Amazon Smbhav Venture Fund, we remain committed to fuelling India’s economic development by supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs.”
With its unique value proposition and a strong backing of institutional investors, RAS Luxury Skincare is well-positioned to capture the growing demand for premium beauty products in India while scaling its operations to achieve global recognition.
