Zerodha’s co-founder Nikhil Kamath unveiled a new grant fund, WTFund, on Monday, aimed at fostering entrepreneurship in India. The fund is non-dilutive and sector-agnostic, designed to support entrepreneurs aged 25 and under who have the potential to “revolutionize their industries through innovative ideas and compelling visions,” according to a statement from WTF.
The fund provides entrepreneurs with a grant of up to Rs 20 lakh, ensuring they retain full equity. Additionally, recipients will benefit from “operator-first mentorship pods, a vibrant community through the WTF ecosystem, a Go-To-Market (GTM) studio, beta testing, and feedback opportunities, as well as talent acquisition channels through an internship program, a fractional CXO database, and moonlighting opportunities.”
WTFund plans to select 40 entrepreneurs for funding and mentorship within a year, following a rigorous screening process. This support will continue until the entrepreneurs secure their first institutional funding.
