Moody’s, a global provider of integrated risk perspectives including credit ratings, analytical solutions, and insights, has appointed Durga Bhavani asManaging Director and head of its Global
Capability Centers (GCC) in India. These centers provide crucial support for a variety of data, research, and analytical tasks.
In her new role, Durga will lead the execution of the capability center strategy and local leadership objectives across all Moody’s locations in India. Previously, she served as Associate Managing Director and service delivery leader for global corporate, project, infrastructure, and structured finance associate teams in Costa Rica, India, and Lithuania.
Moody’s operates three global capability centers in India, Costa Rica, and Lithuania, which support its global business operations and shared service functions such as IT, corporate affairs, finance, and human resources. The India GCC employs over 2,300 people across various locations.
Durga joined Moody’s in 2006 as a lead analyst in the EMEA Structured Finance team in London, covering European asset-backed securities and esoteric products. She later became a Senior Vice President at Moody’s Analytics Knowledge Services, managing client relationships and overseeing delivery for key quantitative research projects. She returned to Moody’s in 2015 when the MIS Support Center was established in India. Durga has also worked at CRISIL (an S&P subsidiary) and in GE Capital’s risk management division.
Durga is an advocate for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). She is the Executive Sponsor for India Women’s BRG and has led numerous strategic CSR initiatives in India. She holds a master’s degree in Business Administration (with a specialization in Finance) and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
