Mira Murati, former Chief Technology Officer at OpenAI, has founded a new AI research and product startup, Thinking Machines Lab. In a blog post on Tuesday, February 18, the company stated that its goal is to enhance the accessibility, adaptability, and overall capability of AI systems.
According to Thinking Machines Lab, the expertise surrounding AI training remains concentrated within leading research institutions, which limits both public discussions on AI and users’ ability to engage with the technology effectively.
The startup aims to create AI systems that align with human values to improve their safety and reliability. As outlined in the blog post, Thinking Machines Lab is adopting a distinct development approach by integrating research and product teams in the design process.
