Microsoft has unveiled two new AI-driven sales tools—Sales Agent and Sales Chat—designed to streamline business operations and enhance sales efficiency. These AI agents, integrated into Microsoft 365 Copilot, aim to accelerate deal closures and improve sales processes by reducing barriers between legacy systems.
In a blog post, Microsoft shared its vision: “Our ambition is to empower every employee with a Copilot and transform every business process with agents. Today, we’re announcing two new agents that apply this ambition to sales—the revenue engine for every business—that can be used right in the flow of work.”
Sales Agent and Sales Chat: AI Tools for Smarter Selling
Sales Agent is built to help sales representatives convert contracts into leads, ensuring that potential deals are not overlooked. By working autonomously, the AI can research prospects, schedule meetings, and even close minor sales independently. It utilizes data from CRM systems, company records, Microsoft 365 emails and meetings, and web sources to personalize responses and enhance lead generation.
Meanwhile, Sales Chat is designed to help sales teams optimize their workflow by providing instant insights from CRM data, emails, meetings, and presentations. This tool enables representatives to quickly analyze accounts, prepare for customer meetings, and strategize deal closures. Users can interact with Sales Chat using natural language prompts, such as, “Show me deals that are at risk of falling through” or “Help me plan for tomorrow’s client meeting.”
Both Sales Agent and Sales Chat will be available for public preview in May, offering businesses AI-driven support to enhance productivity and maximize sales potential.
