Lightspeed Venture Partners, a notable early-stage venture capital firm, has strategically expanded its team by bringing in Vivek Gambhir and Kevin Aluwi as venture partners, with a special focus on the India and Southeast Asia regions. Gambhir, a seasoned professional with over three decades of experience, has previously held significant roles at Godrej Consumer Products and boAt, contributing substantially in the consumer goods sector. Aluwi, known for his impactful tenure as the CEO of Gojek, an Indonesian on-demand service giant, brings a wealth of knowledge in digital platforms and startup scaling.
This move by Lightspeed aims to bolster their expertise and influence in key areas such as enterprise software, fintech, consumer, and e-commerce sectors. With a history of investing in around 100 companies across India and Southeast Asia, Lightspeed’s latest fundraise of $500 million for its fourth India and Southeast Asia fund in April, followed by a $275 million fund in 2020, showcases their commitment to fostering growth and innovation in these dynamic markets.
