Kiran Ramamurthy, currently the COO at Media.Monks India, is set to take up the role of chief executive officer at Ogilvy’s 82.5 Communications. He is expected to continue his duties at Media.Monks until the end of May 2024 during his notice period.
It has recently come to light that both Kiran Ramamurthy and Azazul Haque, the Chief Content Officer, are resigning from Media.Monks. Under their guidance, the agency swiftly surpassed the Rs 100-crore revenue milestone within just four years of its establishment in India.
This move signifies a significant return for Ramamurthy to Ogilvy, where he previously held the position of Executive Vice President. Prior to his stint at Media.Monks beginning in August 2019, he spent seven years with Ogilvy in Bangalore. His career also includes roles at Leo Burnett and Lowe India, where he managed major accounts including Toyota, Coca-Cola, Wheel (Unilever), SAB Miller, and Standard Chartered Bank. Additionally, Ramamurthy was involved in the brand launch of Lenovo in India.
Formal confirmation of this transition is still pending.
82.5 Communications, an India-centric creative agency within the Ogilvy network, was established in 2019. The CEO role in India has been vacant since Kapil Arora, the former chairman and CEO of 82.5 in India, relocated to become the COO of Ogilvy Indonesia three months ago.
