Kiran Mani, currently Google’s General Manager and MD for Android and Google Play in the Asia Pacific region, is set to lead Viacom18’s digital division. As the head of the digital business, he will spearhead the expansion of JioCinema, which has disrupted the video streaming sector with its complimentary services. Alongside its ad-supported offering, the platform features a subscription service housing Hollywood content from providers like HBO and NBCUniversal. Viacom18, under the strategic direction of Uday Shankar, has been actively recruiting for its new leadership team.
Kevin Vaz, previously the CEO of Disney Star’s entertainment division, has assumed the role of CEO for TV and digital (regional entertainment) at the company. Alok Jain, another former Disney Star executive, has joined Viacom18 as President and Head of Colours Hindi and Regional, with added responsibilities for launching regional digital content. Anil Jayaraj, the former head of ad sales at Star Sports, is now the CEO of Viacom18’s sports division, having joined the company in 2021.
