Kerala-based semiconductor startup Netrasemi has successfully secured Rs 10 crore in pre-Series A funding from Unicorn India Ventures. The funding will accelerate the development and fabrication of two ML-capable System-on-Chips (SoCs), namely Netra A2000 and Netra R1000, designed to revolutionize Edge AI applications for IoT products.
Founded in 2020 by Jyothis Indirabhai, Sreejith Varma, and Deepa Geetha, Netrasemi specializes in advanced AI/ML-enabled semiconductor solutions. With a dedicated team of 61 professionals, the company focuses on creating efficient, cost-effective SoCs to power next-generation IoT devices. Netrasemi’s chips eliminate the dependency on cloud-based data processing, enabling AI-based analytics directly on Edge devices.
The startup has already garnered interest from leading OEMs in medical, telecom, and industrial sectors across various regions. It anticipates exponential revenue growth, driven by its strategy to design chips that cater to specific customer needs while maintaining power efficiency and cost optimization. For FY25, the company projects a 150% revenue increase, with exponential growth expected by FY27 as chip production scales.
Netrasemi’s SoCs target critical markets such as surveillance, smart infrastructure, robotics, autonomous vehicles, and Industry 4.0. By addressing diverse use cases like machine vision and smart sensors, these chips promise to streamline development for solution providers. Additionally, the startup is capitalizing on the growing demand for security cameras across government, BFSI, and transportation verticals.
This funding milestone not only empowers Netrasemi to enhance its R&D capabilities but also strengthens its position in the global Edge AI semiconductor industry. The backing by Unicorn India Ventures signals confidence in the company’s vision to lead India’s Edge AI transformation with its proprietary technology and robust solutions
