Bengaluru, known as India’s Silicon Valley, is a global capability centre (GCC) hub with 875 of India’s 2,975 GCCs. These centres employ over 1.6 million professionals across the country, driven by the city’s skilled talent pool, global connectivity, and cosmopolitan appeal. The Karnataka GCC Policy 2024-2029 aims to attract 500 new GCCs, generate $50 billion in economic output, and create 3.5 lakh jobs by 2029.
Karnataka’s GCC policy introduces investor-friendly measures, including a digital single-window system and a commitment to approve operations within 45 days. This facilitates smoother market entry, boosts investor confidence, and strengthens the state’s global competitiveness. Cities like Mysuru, Hubballi-Dharwad, and Mangaluru are gaining attention under the “Beyond Bengaluru” initiative, promoting balanced development with incentives like rental and utility reimbursements.
Industry leaders credit Karnataka’s progressive policies for its GCC leadership. Forward-looking governance and investments in talent, infrastructure, and innovation help decentralize operations while fostering innovation hubs. Experts view the state as a benchmark for other regions, highlighting its role in driving global digital transformation. Despite rising competition from other regions, Karnataka’s talent depth and ecosystem maturity position it as a leader in the global GCC landscape.
