Indian Railways is planning to launch a comprehensive “super app” by the end of this year, aimed at revolutionizing the passenger experience. Developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), this app will work in synergy with the existing systems of IRCTC to provide users with a seamless, all-inclusive platform.
“IRCTC will continue as the interface between CRIS and passengers buying train tickets. Integration between the planned super app and IRCTC is underway,” the report said, quoting an official.
“IRCTC sees the ‘super app’ as another avenue for earnings,” said the official.
The new super app is designed to offer a range of services in one place, including ticket bookings, platform pass purchases, and real-time train tracking. Passengers will be able to access these features directly through the app, streamlining the entire travel process from start to finish. This move marks a significant step toward enhancing digital services in the Indian Railways sector, making train travel more convenient and user-friendly for passengers.
