Heart Aerospace Appoints Benjamin Stabler as Chief Technology Officer

Heart Aerospace, a prominent manufacturer of hybrid-electric aircraft, is delighted to announce the appointment of Benjamin Stabler as its new Chief Technology Officer, effective immediately. This move comes as Heart Aerospace, headquartered in Sweden, enters a pivotal phase of hardware testing in preparation for showcasing fully electric flight next year.

Bringing a wealth of experience and expertise, Stabler has previously led hardware and software teams on the Crew Dragon program at SpaceX. Additionally, he co-founded Parallel Systems, a company specializing in automated, battery-electric freight rail vehicles.

Known for his proficiency in building safe and high-performance vehicles, Stabler has a track record of nurturing cross-functional teams to address interdisciplinary challenges. His appointment underscores Heart Aerospace’s unwavering commitment to driving innovation and sustainability in the aviation sector.

Anders Forslund, co-founder and CEO of Heart Aerospace, expressed his enthusiasm about Stabler joining the team, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome Ben to the Heart team as our new CTO. Ben’s proven track record and passion for innovation perfectly align with our mission to revolutionize air travel by decarbonizing and democratizing the skies. His leadership will be pivotal in this new and exciting phase of hardware testing and technological advancement.”

Stabler’s appointment as CTO coincides with Heart Aerospace’s significant expansion in the United States, marked by the establishment of a new research and development hub in Los Angeles, California. Based in Los Angeles, Stabler will spearhead the recruitment of a team to collaborate closely with the organization’s headquarters in Gothenburg.

Regarding his new role, Benjamin Stabler remarked, “Decarbonization of aviation is one of the most critical and challenging tasks we will encounter in the next 20 years. Heart has demonstrated that we can make an impact today. I’m excited to join the existing team in Sweden and the new engineering team in Los Angeles, with its rich aerospace heritage, on this mission.”

With Stabler assuming the role of CTO, Anders Forslund will transition from his interim technical leadership to focus entirely on his responsibilities as CEO, ensuring seamless execution of Heart Aerospace’s mission and strategic objectives.
