Goldman Sachs has appointed Sudarshan Ramakrishnan and Devarajan Nambakam as co-heads of Investment Banking in India. In their new roles, Ramakrishnan and Nambakam will oversee the firm’s investment banking strategy in India, focusing on enhancing client relationships and driving growth across various industry sectors.
Ramakrishnan previously served as co-chief operating officer of Investment Banking in India, where he managed client coverage across Technology, Media & Telecom, Consumer & Retail, Metals & Mining, and large conglomerates. He joined Goldman Sachs in 2004 and moved to Mumbai in 2007, earning the title of managing director in 2015.
Nambakam, also co-chief operating officer previously, brings experience in Financial Sponsors, Natural Resources, Healthcare, Industrials, and Infrastructure sectors. Joining Goldman Sachs in 2006, he became managing director in 2017, contributing significantly to the Mumbai team since 2010.
Sunil Khaitan joins Goldman Sachs as managing director and head of Financing in India, bringing expertise from his previous role as head of ECM for South East Asia at a global investment bank. Alongside Kailash Soni, head of ECM in India, Khaitan will focus on expanding the firm’s business by offering innovative equity, equity-linked, and debt solutions.
Goldman Sachs’ chairman and CEO in India, Sonjoy Chatterjee, emphasized the strategic importance of these appointments in leveraging global expertise to meet the evolving needs of clients in India’s dynamic economy.
Additionally, Kamna Sahni will join Goldman Sachs as an executive director by the end of the month.
