HRTech startup Darwinbox, Hyderabad’s first unicorn, announced on Friday the elevation of its Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Vineet Singh, to the position of co-founder. This move is seen as a significant milestone in the company’s journey, acknowledging Vineet’s crucial role in driving its success and innovation.
Before joining Darwinbox, Vineet Singh built a solid foundation in engineering, working on product development in both consumer and SaaS technology sectors. His contributions at Darwinbox have been instrumental in shaping the company into a leading HR tech platform. Notably, under his leadership, Darwinbox became the youngest and only Asia-origin Human Capital Management (HCM) product to be featured in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant three years ago.
“We are thrilled to welcome Vineet as the fourth co-founder. He was the first one to join our team back in 2015 and has successfully scaled our engineering and R&D teams into the 400-member strong unit that it is today. Over the years, he has played an active role in areas beyond technology to positively impact Darwinbox’s growth,” said Chaitanya Peddi, co-founder of Darwinbox.
Chaitanya further highlighted Vineet’s pivotal role in realizing Darwinbox’s vision to create a global-standard enterprise tech product from India. “He has scaled the platform into a full-fledged HCM suite with 15 modules in just 6 years, which is faster than any other enterprise HR tech,” Peddi added.
Reflecting on his new role, Vineet Singh expressed his excitement, stating, “We will further accelerate our technological innovations, embedding AI as a platform capability to deliver better experience and contextual intelligence to our customers. This is just the beginning, and I’m looking forward to the continuous growth and innovation that lies ahead of us.”
Founded in 2015, Darwinbox has seen rapid growth, expanding threefold in the last two years. The company is now entering new markets, including the US and UK, serving over 900 enterprises and around 3 million employees globally. In 2023, Darwinbox partnered with Microsoft to co-innovate future-ready solutions by integrating both ecosystems. The company has pioneered several industry-first innovations, including integration with Microsoft Teams and the industry’s first HR-specific large language model to bring AI advancements to its customers.
Darwinbox is backed by renowned global investors, including TCV, Microsoft, Salesforce Ventures, Peak XV, Lightspeed, and Endiya Partners.
