Canva Unveils Visual Suite 2.0 with AI Coding Tool, Voice Commands, and Smart Spreadsheets

Canva has introduced a major upgrade to its platform with the launch of Visual Suite 2.0, showcasing a powerful lineup of AI-driven tools at its annual Canva Create event held at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on April 10.

The new suite includes Canva AI, a voice-enabled, conversational design assistant that allows users to generate and edit text, images, slides, and more—either by typing a prompt or simply speaking. This tool is now accessible directly from the Canva homepage and supports full customization of the AI-generated outputs within the platform.

To ensure transparency and authenticity, all AI-generated content comes with embedded metadata following industry standards, helping identify the origin and integrity of the material.

Key Features of Visual Suite 2.0

One of the most groundbreaking additions is Canva Code, a no-code AI tool that enables users to create interactive elements such as landing pages, calculators, travel maps, custom quizzes, and more. These components can be embedded into other Canva projects, removing the need for external coding tools.

Also introduced is Canva Sheets, an AI-enhanced spreadsheet tool designed to simplify data analysis and visualization. Built within Canva’s Magic Studio, Sheets offers Magic Insights, allowing users to ask questions and receive AI-generated insights on data trends and key takeaways. It supports seamless integration with platforms like Google Analytics, HubSpot, Snowflake, and Statista.

Magic Studio at Scale further enhances productivity by enabling users to highlight a section of data and generate entire campaigns or documents using AI. Meanwhile, Magic Charts allows users to convert raw data into compelling infographics in seconds.

Unified Design and Advanced Photo Editing

For the first time, Canva now allows users to create documents, presentations, websites, and more—all within a single, unified design format. This consolidated approach eliminates the need for multiple tools and improves workflow efficiency.

In addition, the Photo Editor has been enhanced with AI-powered features like background generation and a point-and-click interface for editing specific elements with ease.

Supporting Creators and Responsible AI

Canva’s new features are powered by its in-house AI models, trained using content from users who have opted in to share their designs. To support its creative community, Canva offers royalties and ongoing payments to contributors whose work helps power these AI tools. So far, the company has distributed millions through its $200 million Creator Fund.

With these innovations, Canva reinforces its commitment to making design more accessible, intelligent, and personalized—solidifying its position at the forefront of the visual communication industry.
