Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a prominent Indian defense electronics company, has appointed Manoj Jain as its new Chairman and Managing Director.
Manoj Jain’s tenure at BEL has spanned over 30 years, reflecting his commitment and expertise in Research and Development (R&D). He began his career as a Probationary Engineer in August 1991 and has held several key positions, including serving as Director (R&D) since September 26, 2022. He also held additional roles such as Director (Bangalore Complex) from August 1, 2023, and Director (HR) from November 1, 2022, to May 31, 2023. Prior to these roles, he was the General Manager of the Electronic Warfare and Avionics SBU at BEL’s Bangalore Complex.
In his early years at BEL’s Kotdwara Unit, Jain made notable contributions to the development of Digital Multiplexers, designing Cross Connects, creating CDOT Exchanges, and advancing Military Switches.
When he moved to BEL’s Central Research Laboratory in Bangalore in 1999, Jain’s work included developing Defense Networks, creating Network and Bulk Security Solutions, and contributing to Radar technology with projects like VeXT, Scan Converter, and Display using FPGA.
Jain’s leadership roles expanded over the years. He served as the Chief Scientist of CRL-Bangalore from December 2017 to May 2019 and became the General Manager of BEL’s Product Development and Innovation Centre (PD&IC) in June 2019.
Under Manoj Jain’s leadership, BEL aims to continue its innovation and excellence in defense electronics. His extensive R&D experience positions him to guide the company through the evolving technological landscape in the defense sector.
