The Adani Group has unveiled plans to invest ₹50,000 crore in Assam, marking one of the state’s most significant business commitments. This investment will be directed towards key sectors, including airports, aerocities, city gas distribution, power transmission, cement production, and road infrastructure, driving substantial development and job creation.
Expressing his commitment to Assam’s progress, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani stated, “Assam is on a path to greatness, and we at the Adani Group are honoured to walk this path alongside you. This is our commitment, this is our vision, and this is the promise we make today—to you, to Assam, and to the future we will build together.”
Adding to this wave of investments, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani also pledged ₹50,000 crore over the next five years, focusing on green and nuclear energy, supply chain advancements, and retail expansion. Ambani highlighted Reliance’s previous contributions to Assam’s economy, noting that ₹12,000 crore had already been invested since the 2018 summit. With this new infusion of capital, Assam is poised to enhance its technological and AI capabilities, strengthening its role in India’s economic landscape.
These large-scale investments by Adani and Reliance are expected to fuel industrial expansion, improve infrastructure, and generate employment, positioning Assam as an emerging economic hub.
Speaking at a business summit in Guwahati, Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored Assam’s strategic importance as the gateway to Southeast Asia, making it an attractive destination for investors. He attributed the region’s growing economic opportunities to successful peace agreements and the resolution of border disputes, reinforcing Assam’s potential for long-term development.
