Food and grocery delivery giant Swiggy has launched SNACC, a new app designed to deliver meals, snacks, and beverages in just 15 minutes. This strategic move aims to strengthen Swiggy’s position in India’s booming rapid food delivery market, catering to the growing consumer demand for faster and more efficient doorstep service. The introduction of SNACC highlights the platform’s commitment to innovation and staying ahead in the competitive landscape.
The launch comes at a time when the quick food delivery space in India is witnessing intense competition, with both established players and new entrants vying for consumer attention. Rival Zomato recently introduced a 15-minute food delivery feature on its main app, while Blinkit launched Bistro and Zepto unveiled Zepto Cafe to cater to similar demands. Emerging platforms like Swish, Magicpin, and Zing have also entered the market, further intensifying the race for user loyalty and market share.
SNACC marks a strategic departure from Swiggy’s earlier approach of housing all its services under a single app. By introducing a dedicated app for quick meal delivery, Swiggy is adopting a targeted strategy to capture the growing user base seeking faster service. This move aligns with industry trends, where companies are launching separate platforms to address specific customer needs and differentiate themselves in a crowded market.
The new app went live on January 7 in select areas of Bengaluru, Swiggy’s headquarters, and is expected to expand to other cities in the near future. SNACC features a vibrant fluorescent green design with dark blue text, making it visually distinct. Its offerings are organized into categories such as Indian Breakfast, Coffee, Bakes, Cold Beverages, Eggs, and Protein. Well-known brands like Blue Tokai and The Whole Truth are already listed, alongside several unbranded items sourced from third-party food providers.
Industry insiders have noted the impressive speed of SNACC’s development, which was reportedly conceptualized in mid-December and launched within a month. This rapid rollout underscores Swiggy’s agility and commitment to meeting market demands. With SNACC, Swiggy is not only catering to immediate consumer needs but also setting the stage for long-term growth in the quick-meal delivery sector, further solidifying its position as a leader in the food delivery space.
