Mobile Premier League (MPL), a prominent skill-gaming platform, has acquired Bengaluru-based CloudFeather Games, a developer specializing in gaming infrastructure tools. While the financial details remain undisclosed, this strategic acquisition underscores MPL’s commitment to enhancing its technological prowess and fortifying its position in the rapidly expanding gaming industry.
Founded in 2021 by Romi Chandra and Kunal Dawn, CloudFeather Games is known for its innovative tools catering to real-money gaming and Web3 applications. The company offers cutting-edge solutions, including multi-card game networks, wallet integration systems, and monetization-driven software development kits (SDKs). MPL plans to leverage CloudFeather’s technology to elevate the gaming experience for its global user base of 120 million, spanning India, the U.S., and Nigeria.
The acquisition aligns seamlessly with MPL’s ambitious growth trajectory. Since its launch in 2018, MPL has expanded its portfolio to over 60 games across diverse categories like fantasy sports, puzzles, and casual games. The platform hosts millions of tournaments monthly, cementing its reputation as a leader in the skill-gaming sector. MPL’s global footprint also includes acquisitions such as Germany-based GameDuell and Blast+, a free-to-play game publisher, along with incubating Mayhem Studios, the creator of the Indian-themed battle royale game Underworld Gang Wars.
The leadership teams from both companies are optimistic about the synergies this acquisition will bring. CloudFeather’s co-founder and CEO, Romi Chandra, expressed enthusiasm for joining MPL, emphasizing a shared vision for innovation in skill-based gaming. Namratha Swamy, COO of MPL, highlighted the value of CloudFeather’s technical expertise in strengthening MPL’s product roadmap and enhancing platform stability and player experiences.
With this acquisition, MPL is poised to set new benchmarks in gaming technology, solidifying its position as a key player in the global gaming ecosystem.
