Reddit Targets International Markets for Growth

Reddit is focusing on expanding its presence in key international markets, including the U.K., India, Brazil, and the Philippines, to grow its global user base. Currently, over half of Reddit’s users reside outside the U.S., according to COO Jen Wong in an interview with CNBC.

India stands out as a significant growth area, with English-speaking users actively engaging in popular topics such as cricket and Bollywood. “India’s growing really rapidly. We see a big opportunity there,” Wong noted.

To support its international push, Reddit is enhancing its machine-learning-powered translation features, aiming to expand to more than 30 countries by 2025, CEO Steve Huffman announced in October. While the U.S. contributes 83% of Reddit’s revenue, the company plans to boost local advertising efforts in other countries to diversify its income streams.
