NVIDIA Appoints Former NASA Director and Latina Space Pioneer Ellen Ochoa to Board of Directors

NVIDIA has announced the addition of Ellen Ochoa, former NASA Johnson Space Center director and the first Latina astronaut in space, to its board of directors. Jensen Huang, NVIDIA’s founder and CEO, praised Ochoa’s groundbreaking career, calling her “a trailblazer and leader” whose insights will support NVIDIA’s journey in advancing computing and AI.

Ochoa, age 66, brings an impressive academic and professional background to the role, holding a Bachelor’s in Physics from San Diego State University and both a Master’s and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. Alongside her new role at NVIDIA, she serves on the boards of Service Corporation International, where she chairs the compensation committee, and Mutual of America Financial Group, contributing to their nominating, product, and marketing committees.

With Ochoa’s appointment, NVIDIA’s board now includes 13 members, enhancing the company’s governance as it continues to lead in technology innovation.
