Air India is actively preparing to deliver a seamless experience for customers as it merges with Vistara on November 12, 2024. Following the merger, approximately 115,000 Vistara customers will transition to Air India within the first month, maintaining the high standards Vistara passengers expect. Vistara aircraft will continue to operate but under the Air India brand, with a new four-digit code beginning with “2” for easy identification—such as Vistara flight UK 955 becoming AI 2955.
To assist customers, Air India is implementing additional support measures at airports, including help desks, branded customer support staff, and advisories at check-in kiosks and terminals. Vistara passengers will find familiar in-flight services and unchanged schedules, while customer support has been bolstered both domestically and internationally to guide customers during the transition.
As part of the integration, 270,000 customers previously booked on Vistara flights and over 4.5 million loyalty members are being smoothly migrated to Air India’s loyalty program. Air India now offers an expanded network with access to over 90 destinations and more than 800 codeshare routes, giving customers enhanced connectivity options.
The airline’s fleet is also undergoing significant upgrades. Newly acquired and retrofitted aircraft feature premium seating options across Business, Premium Economy, and Economy, with redesigned interiors, enhanced legroom, USB charging ports, and PED holders. This transition and enhancement aim to elevate Air India’s offerings, ensuring passengers enjoy a refined, comfortable experience as Air India strengthens its global presence.
