Paytm, led by Vijay Shekhar Sharma, has bolstered its leadership team to focus on AI-powered innovation. The fintech giant has promoted Deependra Singh Rathore to the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO), further solidifying its commitment to AI-driven advancements. Meanwhile, former CTO Manmeet Dhody will take on a new role as AI Fellow, where he will lead key projects centered around AI innovation.
Rathore, who has been with Paytm and Paytm Payments Bank since January 2016, currently holds the title of Senior Vice President of Technology. In this capacity, he has spearheaded strategic AI initiatives and overseen the design and implementation of payment solutions. His contributions include developing a comprehensive suite of payment technologies, such as online payment gateways, QR-based payments, and card payment systems, benefiting both merchants and consumers.
Before his tenure at Paytm, Rathore worked at Agnity and Snapdeal, where he held the role of Engineering Manager from 2004 to 2016.
“As India’s leading tech innovator, we have always championed innovations that drive mobile payments and inclusive financial service distribution to the masses. We are excited to see Deependra Singh Rathore step into the role of CTO, and build for financial services in the AI age. We also welcome Manmeet as an AI Fellow, helping accelerate our vision of integrating AI-driven processes across our business operations,” a company spokesperson stated.
